In just a few short years, bundleIQ has gone from being one of the first companies in OpenAI Beta to launching an AI workspace used by 1,000s powered by GPT-3 and a couple of other ML models trained in-house.

From the beginning, we aimed to make it easy for analysts, academics, and researchers to leverage AI in their day-to-day knowledge work. By providing a playground where they can wrangle unstructured data, make sense of information, and write, we gave them the ability to co-create with AI.

Core functionality helps users organize, find, understand, discover, and use relevant information from their notes and docs.

By understanding the context of documents, bundleIQ provides customers with better search results and recommendations. Moreover, its search goes beyond the literal meaning of words to find the underlying concepts they represent. This allows for more relevance based on the user’s intent.

Generative AI and Narrow AI: The Future of Work

When we started this journey, Generative AI was only a topic people discussed on Clubhouse. Our team knew the technology would be transformative, but demand had to catch up. However, in 2020, we had the conviction that Generative AI as a subset of Narrow AI was ripe to shape the future of many industries, including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

Narrow AI is artificial intelligence focusing on a single subset of cognitive abilities. This type of AI is also sometimes referred to as applied AI. Narrow AI applications can range from facial recognition software to chatbots consisting of rules-based and generative models.

Generative models in contrast to rule-based models are based on probability and statistics. Rule-based models can be more accurate than generative models, but they can be more challenging to create and maintain.

Some common applications for rules-based models include:

  • Sentiment analysis
  • Language translation
  • Spam filtering
  • Fraud detection.

Some common applications for generative models include:

  • Text generation
  • Image generation
  • Audio generation
  • Video generation

GPT-3 is a generative model that OpenAI created. It is designed to generate realistic text and can be used for machine translation and question-answering tasks. We use GPT-3 to create AI-generated summaries of notes, transcripts, and pdfs. And we use it to support users as they write offering AI-generated titles, headlines, and paragraphs and analyzing sentiment.
