“Sir, your suit is not combat-ready.”- JARVIS.
Just A Rather Very Intelligent System (JARVIS) was originally Tony Stark’s natural-language user interface computer system, named after Edwin Jarvis, the butler who worked for Howard Stark. Over time, he was upgraded into an artificially intelligent system, tasked with running the business for Stark Industries and security for Tony Stark’s Mansion and Stark Tower.
I never thought about what we’re doing as JARVIS but, ‘IQ could very well be the AI that power’s up with you each morning. When you need to put on your metaphorical combat suit, ‘IQ starts scanning your files, analyzing the activities from the day before, and summarizing your course of action. ‘IQ could go through the virtual flight checklist that establishes a sequence before the coffee finishes brewing and the first sip hits your lips.
All of the thoughts, ideas, and strategies inside your workflow today represents a proxy of your brain. Everything coming out of your mind at any given time in the forms of an email, message, or expressed interests describe how you think and profile who you are. Further connecting how one node relates to another. And down the achievement path these connections could possibly be tracked to present a quality score. Mr. Stark, there’s a sign of unusual brain activity; it appears you may be experiencing a severe anxiety attack. This integration level may not ever come, but unstructured data will definitely be wrangled more meaningfully to advance our ability to solve problems.
“Human beings, viewed as behaving systems, are quite simple. The apparent complexity of our behavior over time is largely a reflection of the complexity of the environment in which we find ourselves.” — Herbert A. Simon (one of the founding fathers of artificial intelligence)
The prior is a bit of scifi maybe, but one thing is for sure, the future of work includes AI; there’s no doubt because it’s already here. What’s more, experiencing artificial intelligence as a companion like JARVIS is also likely.
At bundleIQ, we are not far from making the feeling of co-creation available to knowledge workers worldwide. Today, your version of JARVIS, in ‘IQ, is an icon in the lower right-hand corner of your notes editor. Tomorrow, it’s maybe that plus a voice interface with a name. Hey, (enter AI name), “I’d like to create an agenda for tomorrow’s marketing meeting with Brad.” Sure thing Susan, Here are four notes and two recent emails related to Marketing and Brad.
What a world this will be when we get to co-create with an AI that has our back?
It’s exciting, and it isn’t far off.
But it doesn’t come without its challenges. Making Just Another Very Intelligent System is not easy, and the conversations around doing so are essential to the machine’s underlying ethics and privacy. So, where do we start?
Because we want to improve quality of life — environment, community, economy.
bundleIQ increases human capacity to help solve problems faster and with a better understanding than ever before.
To us, progress is a function of the 3 I’s — Intelligence, Integrity, and Inspiration.
- We work to support people’s ability to arrive at their desired outcomes.
- We empower healthy decision-making, especially if those choices could bring harm to the planet and others.
- We propel thinking towards creativity and possibility.
